CHATEAU PALMER 2017, Bordeaux (ORGANIC)

The dried flower and citrus notes hit first, then the blue fruit comes through — way more perfumed than I expected from a 2017. Tannins are so soft and integrated it drinks beautifully right now, though I'll probably hold my other bottles a few more years.

The aromatics on this are incredible—dried flowers and citrus leap out of the glass before you even taste it. The blue fruit comes through beautifully, and the finish is long and smooth.

The tannins here are so soft and integrated that it drinks beautifully right out of the bottle, no long decant needed. I poured it with roast lamb and the blue fruit and subtle floral finish kept unfolding all evening.
