MATUA PINOT NOIR 2020, Marlborough

The red fruit flavors really come through, and the tannins are so soft it feels almost silky. Poured a glass with dinner and it was perfectly balanced from the first sip.

The oak is just a whisper here, which I love—it lets the soft tannins and that fresh red fruit stay the star of every sip. It's the kind of easy-drinking pinot that doesn't need food, but I've had it with a simple roast chicken and it shone even more.

That ripe red fruit hits you right away on the nose, and the tannins are so soft it goes down dangerously smooth. I was really impressed with how the layers of flavor keep unfolding with each sip.
