NIEPOORT VINTAGE 2015 PORT, Portugal

The pour is almost black in the glass, and the first sip hits you with that toasted oak before the raisin sweetness rolls in. I’ve had younger ports that feel sharp, but this one finishes so silky you forget you’re drinking something this intense.

The finish is incredibly long and silky, which made it perfect for sipping after dinner. I was hoping for a bit more raisin sweetness upfront, but the toasted oak and plum flavors balanced it out nicely. A solid choice for a special occasion.

Opened this last night and the plum and raisin notes hit immediately, with a long silky finish that lingered beautifully. I’d have liked a touch more oak presence to balance the sweetness, but it’s still a solid vintage.
