That smoky note on the nose is really lovely, and it's got just enough body to stand up to a good steak without being too heavy. I opened it for a Friday night dinner and everyone asked what we were drinking.

This paired perfectly with a hearty vegetarian casserole I made last weekend. The smoky notes and plum finish really came through, and it wasn't too heavy on the palate.

Grilled some lamb chops last night and this wine was perfect—the smoky aroma paired beautifully with the char. The medium body let the blackberry notes shine without overwhelming the meal. Already planning to grab another bottle for next weekend's barbecue.
