The violet and dark cherry aromas leap out of the glass the moment you pour it, and the supple tannins make it dangerously easy to finish the bottle. We had it with a simple risotto and the soft finish lingered just right.

Opened this last night with pasta and it was exactly the soft, supple mouthfeel I hoped for—the cranberry and wild herb notes kept it interesting without being heavy. Went down almost too easily, so I’d say buy two bottles if you’re cooking for more than two.
