That licorice note really comes through on the back end, and the finish lingers with this elegant, structured warmth. Power and finesse is exactly right—drank it slowly over two hours and it never felt heavy.

Poured a glass tonight and the anise and black licorice notes really came through on the nose, just as described. It’s got that generous body but stays structured and elegant, and the finish lingers beautifully.

Opened this with some skepticism for a 2007 Napa, but it's still incredibly fresh. The structure is there, with a wonderful burst of dark fruit that keeps going through the long finish. A powerful yet elegant wine that paired perfectly with a grilled steak.
