KLINKER BRICK ZINFANDEL 2020, Lodi

Cranberry and boysenberry come through beautifully alongside that classic peppery kick, and the depth from those old vines is unmistakable. This really opened up after about 30 minutes in the glass, revealing layers I didn't catch at first.

The plum and black pepper notes hit right away, and the mulberry adds a juicy twist that keeps every sip interesting. It’s bold but not heavy, exactly what I want from a zin with this kind of age behind it.

I opened this expecting a decent red, but the black pepper note really came through on the finish and balanced the intense boysenberry nicely. The fact that some of those vines are over a century old explains that deep concentration of flavor.
