The 2011 Altagracia is round, sexy, supple and beautiful, especially within the context of the year. Sweet red berries, mint, tobacco, savory herbs and anise meld together in a distinctive wine long on personality. With time in the glass the wine fleshes out nicely, as the flavors become darker, richer and layered. Altagracia is a blend of mostly Eisele fruit, plus a bit of Vine Hill Ranch, a well-draining site in Oakville that is among Napa Valley's very best

Isabella ★★★★★

The nose is absolutely classic Napa—mint and tobacco with a surprising lift of anise. On the palate it's round and supple, not heavy at all, and the sweet red berry fruit carries through a long finish. This 2011 really over-delivers for the vintage.

Sofia ★★★★★

Opened this with some skepticism given the vintage, but the round, supple texture and that sweet red berry and mint note make it dangerously easy to drink. The savory herbs on the finish keep it interesting rather than just fruity. Already ordered another bottle.

The 2011 Altagracia really surprised me with its smooth finish and that beautiful blend of sweet red berries and mint. It’s elegant without being heavy, perfect for a quiet dinner. My only tiny gripe is it could use a bit more body, but the flavor complexity makes up for it.
