Category: BORDEAUX BLEND

The last vintage of the Benchland Bordeaux blend. 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc & 2% Merlot. The wine is deep ruby—not black—and with little sign of evolution. The nose is subtle and complex, of flowers, red fruits, black fruits, dried fruits, herbs and leaves. Smooth and round on the entry, the mid—palate is surprisingly firm and refined, leading to a finish of toast and bitter chocolate. The wine is classically Cain, subtle, balanced, and yet, undoubtedly one of the ripest Cain Concepts ever made. But, it doesn’t go over the limit; the tannins remain firm and lively with a very fine edge.

William S. ★★★★★

I opened a bottle of this with some grilled steak and the blend was incredibly smooth, especially for a 2015. The Petit Verdot really adds a nice structure without making it too heavy.

Emily ★★★★★

I was really impressed by how smooth the 64% Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot blend is—it’s deep ruby but still fresh, with no sign of aging. Perfect for a special dinner.

Edward V. ★★★★★

Opened this 2015 expecting something tired, but the blend still tastes incredibly vibrant with that 31% Petit Verdot giving it real structure. For a Bordeaux blend this age, it's surprisingly fresh and smooth—I'm already ordering another bottle.
