"Compared to the Echézeaux the nose is more demure, perhaps more refined, does not feel the urge to "put it all out" as it were. Reticent is the word - yet the precision and delineation is undeniable. The palate is medium-bodied with very supple tannin, here a mixture of red and black fruit, a little broodier and more introspective than its "cousin" but with greater persistence in the mouth. It unfurls on the finish: hints of dry tobacco and cedar, leaving you with the impression of a "masculine" Grands Echézeaux, one built for the long haul." 987 cases produced. 95pts - Wine Advocate Certified Organic vineyard.

Christopher ★★★★★

The nose is indeed more restrained than its sibling, but the precision and refined structure on the palate are absolutely breathtaking. This 2012 is a study in subtle power—I've never tasted a Pinot with such elegant, coiled tension that unfolds so beautifully with air.

Matthew ★★★★★

That 2012 was pure elegance in a glass—the nose stayed quiet at first but the precision and delineation on the palate were undeniable, like a tightly coiled spring. It needed a solid hour to open up, and once it did, every sip felt more refined than the last.

Jacob ★★★★★

Opened this beside the regular Echézeaux and the difference is exactly as described — that quieter, more refined nose doesn't shout, but the precision on the palate is unmistakable. It's the kind of wine that rewards patience, so give it an hour in the glass before you judge it.
