Category: RHONE BLEND

"Even better and one thrilling white, the 2012 Saint Joseph Lieu-Dit Blanc, which comes from the vineyard that gave the appellation its name, is a smoking blend of 93% Marsanne and 7% Roussanne that’s brought up all in new oak barrels. Rich, textured and full-bodied, it oozes notions of caramelized peaches, toast, cream and brioche." 92pts - Wine Advocate

Elizabeth ★★★★★

Opened it last night and the minerality from the Roussanne cuts right through the honeyed Marsanne. Drinking beautifully now with a grilled fish dinner.

Andrew H. ★★★★★

Opened this 2012 last night and the Marsanne really dominates in the best way—rich, almost honeyed, yet still bright. The blend with just 7% Roussanne gives it a structure I wasn't expecting from a white this age. Perfect for a slow evening with roasted chicken.

Andrew E. ★★★★☆

I opened the 2012 Lieu-Dit Blanc last night, and that Marsanne-Roussanne blend really delivers a complex, smoky depth I wasn’t expecting. The mouthfeel is rich without being heavy, though it could use another year or two to fully open up. Still, a very satisfying white for the price.
