Donati's Lagrein Rubino is a notable standard-bearer for the grape. His wine is juicy, with hints of vanilla, violets, cacao, black pepper and anise on a medium-bodied frame of redcurrant and black cherry fruit. Think herb-rubbed pork ribs or leg of lamb with rosemary. Sustainable.
