92pts from James Suckling this vineyard was started in a garage by Papa Pasquale Pelissero who was one of the first in Nieve to produce and bottle his own wines. This tiny family owned winery is now owned by his daughter Ornella since his passing in 2007 with the Barbaresco parcel consists of just under 20 acres. Implementing new techniques in the process from start to finish make this winery a local treasure where other vintners visit to observe. Intense and earthy in all facets the opaque ruby red hues are blended with garnet flecks. Aromas of red cherry and red wild berries showcase nuances of exotic spices. Full-bodied and smooth yet firm with persistent tannins create a palate of black cherry, tobacco, and licorice. A long velvety finish with dried black fruits, toasty baked spices, and espresso round out this textbook Barbaresco. Pairs wonderfully with any earthy dishes, ragus', and hearty one dish wonders!!

Abigail W. ★★★★★

Finally tasted this after five years of cellaring and it’s incredibly smooth with those classic Nebbiolo tannins fully integrated. The 92-point score from Suckling was spot on; the depth and complexity are remarkable for a garage-started winery. A great bottle for a special dinner.

Mia ★★★★★

Opened this on a quiet Sunday and wow, that 92-point score from Suckling is spot on. The fact that this came from a garage-started family operation in Nieve makes every sip feel more authentic, and the 2013 vintage is drinking beautifully right now.

Ellie N. ★★★★★

Bought this as a gift and was really impressed by the depth of flavor — even my wine-snob brother noted the 92-point rating from Suckling is well earned. The finish is long and smooth, with just enough tannin to make it interesting.
