The 2006 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a saturated, deep ruby color. It’s an earth-driven and savory wine with aromas of black pepper, soil and a touch of blackberry and cherry. The entry has a sweet, milk chocolate-like structure, and a streak of acidity adds freshness that carries through all the way to the finish. There are some tart cherry and ripe fruit flavors on the mid-palate, and espresso bean flavors and forgiving tannins frame the finish of moderate length. Decanting is probably not necessary due to very light sediment. Enjoy now through 2031. Napa Green winery.
