Category: ITALIAN RED

Grown in the appellation of Assisi, this region is initially known for its production of extra virgin olive oil. Limestone soils create a soft, well structured wine with tasty tannins and a complex finish. 50% Sangiovese, 30% Merlot, and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon are blended creating a ruby red hue edged with purple. Fresh and fruity with notes of red fruit, sweet spices, and chocolate on the nose. The consistent palate is fresh with tasty tannins showcases cherries, raspberries, and mocha. The complex finish is long and savory re-visiting the same ripe fruits rounded out with dark fudge and deep baked spices. Pair this with fondue and any grilled, roasted, and stewed dishes or just drink on its own.

Sofia ★★★★★

Opened it with pasta and couldn't believe how soft the tannins felt on the finish. The limestone soils really give it that well structured body, and it paired beautifully without overpowering anything. Definitely grabbing another bottle for the holidays.

Isabella ★★★★★

The limestone really does make a difference—the tannins are present but way smoother than I expected from a red at this price. I paired it with some pasta and it opened up beautifully after about 20 minutes.

Eli ★★★★★

This is the first red I've tried from Assisi, and the soft structure with those tasty tannins makes it dangerously easy to drink. Pairs beautifully with a simple pasta—the limestone soil really shines through in the finish.
