Category: LIQUEUR

Tuaca is a lightly sweet, thick amber Italian liqueur based on fine, cask-aged brandy, possessing a rich fruit-like flavor of vanilla and citrus. Tuaca comes from Livorno in Tuscany and is derived by Tuscan brothers-in-law Geatano Tuoni and Giorgio Canepa from a 500 year old secret recipe from renaissance Italy. The recipe supposedly dates to the Renaissance; one story is that the liqueur was created for Lorenzo di Medici.

Americans first discovered this treat during World War II, and came home looking for this unique taste. It has been marketed in the United States since the late 1950s. While it's great on its own as an after dinner drink, it also works well in more modern cocktails - see what you think.

Joshua ★★★★★

That vanilla-citrus finish is incredibly smooth for a 1-liter bottle, and it's fantastic mixed into a simple hot cider. I've already used it in two different cocktails and the flavor really stands out without being cloying.

Leo ★★★★★

The pour is thick and syrupy, and that cask-aged brandy base gives it a smoothness that makes it just as easy to sip neat as it is to mix. I’ve been adding a splash to my coffee, and the citrus keeps it from feeling too heavy.

James D. ★★★★★

The vanilla and citrus notes are perfectly balanced in this, making it incredibly smooth to sip neat on a cold evening. A little goes a long way, but the rich amber color and thick texture are exactly what I was hoping for.
