BODEGAS ALTANZA CAPITOSO 2021, Rioja (VEGAN)

This paired beautifully with the grilled steak I made last night—the blackberry and plum notes really came through. Smooth and not too tannic, exactly what I wanted for a weekday dinner. Glad it’s vegan-friendly too.

I opened this with some roasted vegetables and the blackberry and cherry flavors really popped right from the first sip. It's smooth enough to drink on its own but has enough body to stand up to food.

The vanilla and plum notes are so upfront on the first sip, it made my roasted portobellos feel like a steak dinner. Silky mouthfeel with zero of that sharp tannin bite I usually get from Riojas. Glad I checked it was vegan before ordering.
