CHATEAU LAFITE ROTHSCHILD 1996, Pauillac

I've been cellaring this for years and the silky tannins are exactly as promised—so smooth they almost melt on the tongue. That long, caressing finish makes every sip worth the wait.

The nose on this 1996 is just incredible—currant and licorice leap out of the glass. Those supersilky tannins live up to the hype, making for an incredibly smooth finish. Definitely worth opening for a special occasion.

Decided to decant this for about two hours before serving, and the aromas of currant and licorice really opened up beautifully. The silky tannins and that long, caressing finish made every sip feel luxurious. Definitely worth the wait for a milestone anniversary.
