MASCARELLO BAROLO 'MONPRIVATO' 2007, Italy

Finally cracked this open last night and the tannins have softened beautifully while keeping that deep, dark fruit intensity. Even after all these years, it still feels like it has decades ahead of it.

Opened this after a decade in the cellar, and it's still remarkably young—that rich, dramatic fruit is just starting to unfold. The finish goes on for minutes. If you have the patience, this one will reward you for years.

The nose alone is incredible—layers of dark fruit and spice that keep unfolding. Already drinking beautifully now but I can see why it’s got decades ahead, the tannins are so fine yet firm. A serious wine that still feels generous.
