MURPHY-GOODE MERLOT 2023, California

This has a nice smooth finish without being too heavy, perfect for a casual dinner. I was surprised by how well it paired with a simple pasta dish. Definitely a solid everyday red for the price.

Opened this on a weeknight and it poured a deep garnet with a soft, plummy nose that filled the glass. The 2023 vintage is drinking nicely now, with a velvety finish that made the whole bottle disappear before dinner was even on the table.

This 2023 Merlot has a smooth, medium body that made it easy to drink on its own without needing food. The dark fruit flavors come through nicely without being too jammy.
