PIO CESARE BAROLO MOSCONI 2015, Piedmont

The nose on this Barolo is incredible, with those unique aromas living up to the description—I kept smelling the glass before even tasting it. After letting it breathe for about an hour, the mature fruit really opened up and showed why they only pick the healthiest grapes.

After decanting for about an hour, the nose opened up with those incredible perfumed aromas the description promises. The tannins are refined enough to enjoy now but still have structure for a few more years in the cellar.

I was really struck by how incredibly perfumed this wine is right from the first pour—the unique aromas are something special. It paired beautifully with a simple mushroom risotto, bringing out layers of depth I hadn’t expected. Definitely a bottle that feels worth the wait if you can keep your hand
