VINCHIO VAGLIO BARBARESCO 2019, Piedmont

This Barbaresco is exactly what I was hoping for—those firm tannins and the damp earth notes give it such a classic Piedmont character. It paired perfectly with my penne bolognese last night and had amazing length on the finish.

Poured a glass with penne bolognese and the black cherry and damp earth notes really balanced the richness perfectly. Firm tannins gave it structure without being too aggressive, and the finish lingered nicely.

That damp earth and black cherry on the nose was exactly what I hoped for—the tar and firm tannins really came through on the finish. Paired it with a simple bolognese and it held up beautifully.
