CHAPOUTIER CORNAS TEMENOS 2016, Rhone (ORGANIC)

I popped this open last weekend and the purity of fruit from those eastern-facing Reynard vines is something else—dark, saline, and utterly precise. It's my first taste of the 2016 Cornas and it drank beautifully now, though I can tell another five years in the cellar will only deepen it.

The depth from the biodynamic farming really comes through in the glass—layered and pure. I opened it last night with grilled lamb and the dark fruit kept evolving for hours.

The dark fruit and pepper notes are incredibly concentrated but still elegant, with that Saint-Pierre parcel giving it a refined mineral backbone. I've had several Cornas wines, and this one stands out for how seamlessly it balances power with finesse. The finish lingered for almost a minute after m
