"The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Pluribus is from a relatively high-elevation vineyard on the steep slopes of Spring Mountain and planted in the white Tufa volcanic bedrock of that area. This is the most northern vineyard of the Bond Estates, and this wine was just incredible. By far, the biggest, most backward and massive of all the 2005s, this wine behaved as if it were three or four years old, rather than ten. Dense purple, it offers notes of blueberry liqueur, St.-Estèphe-like earth, licorice and a gravelly note with incredible depth, lots of blackberries, and a finish that goes on for 45+ seconds. This is incredibly youthful and dominated by the blue and black fruits that are so much a part of the Spring Mountain AVA." (RP) - 98 Pts. - Wine Advocate "Packs in lots of rich, supple layers of flavor, built around fleshy currant, black cherry, plum and wild berry fruit, shaded by creamy, toasty oak. The vibrancy and concentration give this a long, persistent finish." 92 Pts. - Wine Spectator

Steven S. ★★★★★

Popped this last weekend and was blown away by the depth of flavor that volcanic soil gives—the tannins are incredibly fine-grained for a 2005. The finish just keeps going, revealing layers of dark fruit and mineral. Definitely worth the wait.

Penelope A. ★★★★★

The volcanic soil really comes through in the finish—such a distinct minerality that I haven't found in other Napa cabs. This bottle opened up beautifully after about an hour in the decanter, showing layers of dark fruit and a long, elegant finish. Perfect for a special occasion.

Ava ★★★★★

Opened it with a group of friends and the volcanic soil really came through in the finish—mineral and layered. For a 2005, it’s still showing plenty of dark fruit and structure, definitely worth the wait.
