CHATEAU GRUAUD LAROSE 1982, Bordeaux 3 LITER

CHATEAU GRUAUD LAROSE 1982, Bordeaux 3 LITER - Main image
$1281 $2100 In stock

Category: BORDEAUX BLEND

A massive wine that is clearly of first-growth quality in this vintage, the 1982 Gruaud Larose remains a youngster. A broodingly dense, thick, unctuously textured, inky/plum/garnet/purple color offers up scents of beef blood, steak tartare, cassis, herbs, tobacco, and underbrush. Mature through 2050, RP - 98 points.

Pulled the cork on this last week and it's still incredibly youthful — the texture is so thick and unctuous, it coated my glass like velvet. Definitely needs another decade or two to fully open up.

Scarlett ★★★★★

That inky, plum-garnet color is exactly what you'd expect from a legendary vintage, and the wine still has that brooding, thick texture. I've had more expensive bottles that don't come close to this depth for a special occasion.

Opened this for a special dinner, and the texture was exactly as described—unctuous and thick, with a depth that still feels incredibly young for a 1982. It's a massive wine that truly overdelivers for its classification.
