Category: RHONE BLEND

"From a difficult vintage, is an outstanding effort. Incense, camphor, black currants, cherries, licorice, crushed rock and graphite characteristics are present in this dark ruby/plum-colored wine that defies the mediocrity of the vintage. A sleeper of the vintage, it is a tribute to the brilliant winemaking and elevage skills of the Guigal family." 92pts - Wine Spectator

Hazel ★★★★★

Even for a tough year like 2008, this has incredible complexity—the crushed rock and graphite notes really come through on the finish. I've had other Rhônes from that vintage fall flat, but this one still has plenty of dark fruit and structure left.

Victoria N. ★★★★★

I was surprised how smoothly this Saint-Joseph drinks despite the tough 2008 vintage — the crushed rock and graphite notes really come through on the finish. Paired beautifully with lamb chops last night.

Sophia Z. ★★★★★

This bottle really delivers for a 2008 — the crushed rock and graphite notes cut through the dark fruit beautifully. Opened it with a simple roast and it evolved in the glass for over an hour.
