The Kozlovic family has been producing wines in the Valle Valley of Istria, Croatia since 1904. Their goal is to preserve indigenous Istrian varieties that honor region and heritage. The passion of several generations has made them the largest private producer of Malvasia (Malvazija) in Istria. The family has played a key role in putting Croatian Malvasia (Malvazija) back on the map. Their 2018 "Santa Lucia" Malvazija possesses more breadth, depth and complexity than their entry-level Malvazija. The "Santa Lucia" fruit is sourced from the "Santa Lucia" vineyard which was planted in 1961. Twelve months of oak aging in large Slavonian oak barrels contributes a rich intensity and viscosity. Concentrated aromatics of green melon and green apple resonate on the lively palate with the addition of hints of almond paste. The clean finish has good length.
