Moulin d'Issan is the 3rd wine of Margaux's Chateau d'Issan. This Bordeaux Superior was aged in wood for 16 to 18 months (30% new). The blend is the same for all their wines: 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot. The average age of the vines is 35 years. The property was rejuvenated after World War II and has seen 50+ years of steady improvement. When Robert Parker reviewed the elder sister of this wine, he gave it an outstanding 94 points!

Nicholas I. ★★★★★

Opened it last night and the 70% Cabernet Sauvignon blend gives it such a nice structure. The wood aging is present but not overpowering, really smooth for a young Bordeaux.

Grace A. ★★★★★

The 16 to 18 months in wood really shows—the tannins are smooth but still give it that classic Margaux structure. Opened it with a slow-cooked lamb shoulder and the Cabernet backbone stood up perfectly. Already ordered another bottle for next spring.

Chloe L. ★★★★★

The 30% new oak aging gives this a really elegant structure that's still approachable now. I let it breathe for about an hour and the dark fruit notes opened up beautifully.
