Bruto is made from a variety of herbs, roots, and other botanicals. Though the exact number of ingredients and formulation are proprietary, we will say that the bitterness comes primarily from gentian root; the citrus notes mostly from California-grown Seville orange; and the woodsy notes from balsam fir and Cascara sagrada (bark from the California buckthorn).

Leo ★★★★★

The gentian root gives it a really clean, distinct bitterness that's not overpowering at all. I've been enjoying it on the rocks with a twist of orange peel for a simple evening drink.

Victoria ★★★★★

Mixing this with tonic water and a slice of orange creates a perfect aperitivo—the herbal complexity from the roots is noticeable but not overpowering. I've already gone through half the bottle this week.

Ella ★★★★★

The gentian root gives it a clean, herbaceous bitterness that really stands up in a spritz without being overwhelming. I've been mixing it with soda and a twist of orange peel for a quick afternoon aperitivo.
