Category: GRENACHE

A little Italian wine label translation of "Cannonau di Sardegna" here for context: Sardegna = Sardinia and Cann Sardinian name for Grenache. Now that you know the place and grape here's what to expect when you open the bottle. Stainless steel fermentation and a brief period of oak aging on its lees creates a wine of bright red fruit - ripe raspberry coulis and black cherry compote - with just the right amount of acidity and tannins for refreshing structure and breadth on the palate. Should play well with lamb kabobs with wild rice, cassoulet or porchetta.

Sebastian ★★★★★

Opened it last night with some roasted lamb and the dark cherry notes really came through perfectly. For around $15 this drinks way above its price point, with a nice silky finish that lingers just long enough. Already ordered another couple bottles.

The nose is pure Sardinian sun—ripe red berries and warm herbs. On the palate it’s surprisingly elegant, with fine tannins and a long, clean finish. Perfect for grilled lamb.

Matthew G. ★★★★★

The 2022 vintage has a really nice balance of ripe red fruit and that earthy, sun-baked Sardinian character. It’s smooth enough to drink now but I think it could handle another year or two in the cellar.
