First sip surprised me with how the wood and spice come through behind that strong butterscotch sweetness. It's got a nice medium-heavy feel that coats the tongue without being harsh. A solid choice for sipping neat on a cold evening.

That butterscotch note is almost overwhelming in the best way—I swear I can smell the candy wrapper. The mouthfeel is nicely heavy without being syrupy, and that oak and caramel finish lingers just long enough.

I was expecting a standard bourbon, but the rich oak and caramel notes surprised me. It's a bit heavy for everyday sipping, though.
