MASSAYA GOLD RESERVE 2005, Lebanon

Opened this with some skepticism, but the way the Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvedre and Syrah blend together is genuinely elegant—smooth but with enough structure to stand up to a hearty meal. It’s a bottle that feels special for a dinner party without being pretentious.

The Bekaa Valley fruit gives this blend a unique, earthy depth I haven't found in other Côtes du Rhône-style wines. That dark berry and spice combination is incredibly elegant, and the finish lingers beautifully.

Opened this with some skepticism, but the Bekaa Valley blend is remarkably smooth and well-integrated, with the Syrah really coming through. It's complex enough to sip on its own but also paired beautifully with a lamb dish we had last night. Will definitely be ordering another bottle.
