That tobacco and creme de cassis hit you right away, with the espresso lingering on the finish. For a 2004, this is incredibly youthful and full-bodied—still has decades ahead.

Opened this for a birthday and the cedarwood and tobacco hit immediately, then that dense, youthful mouthfeel carried through the whole glass. It’s got serious structure but still feels alive right now, which surprised me for a 2004.

That crème de cassis and espresso combo is incredibly rich, and the mouthfeel is surprisingly youthful for a 2004. It opened up beautifully after about an hour in the decanter. Definitely lives up to the 98-point rating.
