DOMINUS ESTATE 2016, Napa

Decided to lay this one down for a few hours before serving, and the deep purple-black color was stunning. The 84% Cabernet Sauvignon backbone gives it a structure that's both powerful and incredibly smooth.

Finally opened a bottle with friends and the depth of that dark purple-black color was stunning in the glass. The new oak aging gives it such a polished, integrated feel without overpowering the fruit. Easily one of the best Napa blends I've had from that vintage.

It's incredibly hard to find a wine that lives up to a 100-point score, but this 2016 absolutely does. The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with Petit Verdot and Franc gives it layers of dark fruit and a structure that's still so youthful.
