BOND MELBURY 2006, Napa

That charcoal and spice note really balances out the fruit beautifully, and the tannins are so refined for a 2006. I've been cellaring this for a while and it's drinking perfectly now with that long, silky finish.

The crème de cassis and blueberry notes are beautifully integrated, and the firm tannins softened nicely after an hour of air. This is a fantastic Napa cab that still has plenty of life ahead—definitely worth the price for a 20-year-old bottle.

Opened this for a special dinner and the crème de cassis and charcoal notes were incredible together. The tannins were firm but not harsh, and the finish seemed to go on forever. Really glad I grabbed this bottle.
