BOND ST EDEN 2005, Napa

The nose jumps out with that classic rocky soil minerality—it’s like smelling the Napa foothills. On the palate, it’s still surprisingly vibrant for a 2005, with soft tannins and a long, elegant finish.

Twenty years in and this still tastes like it was made yesterday—the deep red fruit and that classic Oakville foothill structure are perfectly intact. I’ve decanted it for an hour and the finish just keeps unfolding, a real treat for a special occasion.

The rocky soil really comes through in the finish, giving it a distinct mineral edge that sets it apart from other Napa cabs I've tried. Opened beautifully after about an hour in the decanter.
