The dusty tannins give it a nice grip that balances the dark fruit perfectly, and that black olive note is unmistakable. Opened up beautifully after about an hour in the decanter.

The old vines really show through here—the palate has layers of currant and that distinct smoked meat character that keeps pulling me back for another sip. The tannins are present but dusty, which gives it a nice structure without being harsh.

The black cherry and fig notes come through beautifully, with that savory smoked meat finish really lingering. This is exactly the kind of complex Northern Rhone I was hoping for.
